Web & SMS distribution
Because there are so many different phones and so many different programming platforms, in order to serve all customers to an optimal level we usually end up with many versions of the same application. Getting the right version of the application to the right phone without confusing the user is essential. We have created a solution where we recognize the phone brand and model of a user that comes to our distribution system (through mobile web), and based on that information we serve the right version of the application.
We can direct a user to this distribution system using SMS. We send the user an SMS with a link to our distribution system; he can click on this link in the SMS, and from his mobile browser download the application. For some platforms users are re-directed to the appropriate store, so they can download the application through an environment they trust and are familiar with. The SMS is send when the user fills in his phone number on the web, or when a user sends an SMS to us. Good examples of this SMS distribution are a widget (see Dance Valley Widget), and sending an SMS after registration.
